At Bedford Community Church, the youth ministry exists to connect students with other believers, help them grow in their relationhship with God, worship the Lord through our lives, serve others through ministry and missions, and to reach the community and world for Christ.
Our Goals and Purposes
1) See non-believers come to Jesus as Lord and Savior.
2) Develop fully-devoted followers of Christ.
3) Proclaim the good news or Christ to Westchester, NewYork, and beyond
Our Core Values
Core Value #1:
The BCC Youth Ministry is a place that honors God. (Colossians 3:17)
Our desire is to be set apart for God and to please and glorify Him in all we say and do. We recognize that no one is perfect, yet we want to strive to imitate Christ and live for Him daily. We honor God by both what we say and do. We want our lives and the Youth Group to "shine like stars in the world" and to truly be salt and light to our generation.
Core Value #2:
We want to provide a fun safe, and comfortable place to bring friends. (Matthew 9:10-13)
Here at BCC, we have an open-door policy. No one should feel threatened, intimidated or looked down on when they enter our doors. As belivers, we have an amazing gift of hope and joy that we must be willing to share with others. Our prayer is that Youth Group can be a place for frends and "sinners" (who are just like us) to come and meet some Christians, feel loved and cared for, and be exposed to the life- Changing promises of the Gospel.
Core Value #3:
We are real with each other and honest with God and ourselves. (1 John 4:7-12, 19-21)
What better place for youth to come to with problems, questions and concertn than Youth Group? We want BCC to be an environment where past failures turn into future strength because of the support, advice and prayers of the Youth group. We want students to share their whole lives including dreams, desires, and goals and to know what they always have a supportive group of friends and leaders behind them every step of the way.
Core Value #4:
The Youth Ministry at BCC provides opportunity for fellowship and growth. (Acts 2:42-47)
The first Christians spent time learning, praying, sharing, and serving each other and the community, and "the Lord added to thier number daily those who were being saved." Youth group should be a place where frends can come together and have fun and build memories to last a lifetime. It should also be a place where spiritual growth and maturity is evident. Youth today are starving for three things: Love, good friends, and truth. At BCC we believe that our youth ministry can offer those and more to searching teenagers. Also, we hope that when our students graduate from the minsitry, their lives will be forever changed because of the friends they made and relationship with God they they formed.
Core Value #5:
We Impact our communities and world for Christ. (Matt 5:14-16)
This means being a Christian influence in our families, communities, schools and peers. God made us to be the light of the world and so we are called to let our light shine to those around us. God has given each of us a great privilege in being partners with him in ministry. We impact our communties and world one person at a time and sometimes one prayer at a time. You can see how all five values are interrelated and hopefully as the youth ministry at Bedford lives out each of the first four, the last core value will be the outcome.
